We humans find meaning in struggle. Does that mean all struggle is meaningful? Absolutely not!
Most people in mining, irrespective of their discipline, still assemble their own market coverage by hand every morning, before the actual thinking starts. Yes, AI has helped, based on "how it used to be", but it's merely scratching the surface.
That is the job a PIP does instead. Pulse Intelligence Partner's very first technological breakthrough, now on steroids, with the upgraded ability to be now set up in natural language in seconds.
What is a PIP?
PIP is our internal shorthand for our company name, but we decided to give this very important name to our daily alert — our daily PIP. That's how meaningful it is.
It is a standing instruction, set up in less than a minute, that runs against the whole world's mining data (verified by Pulse) and lands in your inbox before you have opened it. You describe what you would want to know if you had unlimited time and unlimited analysts. It can arrive in real time, or by any hour, day, or cadence you choose. Even rolled up into management reports.
Whilst our PIPs have revolutionised how our clients work, we often find that people underestimate just how narrow the instruction is allowed to be — and how bespoke.
"Any drill hole in Latin America over 1 g/t gold, but only where the company is under $50 million market cap, and only once five holes have been reported."
"Any permit granted within 100km of anything I hold."
"Any operator that mentions one of my assets on an earnings call, and only the passage where they mention it."
"Any resource update in West Africa where tonnes went up but grade went down."
None of those are questions you can hold in your head, and none of them is worth a person's morning. They are worth a machine's.
Four levels deep
And the depth stacks, too. In the more built-out deployments, a PIP runs at four levels:
Level 1. Market activity. Every disclosure across hundreds of assets, filtered down to what actually touches your position.
Level 2. Beyond company disclosure. What is happening around the asset that the company has not told you: permitting, jurisdiction, partners, counterparties, local reporting.
Level 3. Earnings calls. An agent listens to the operator's call and pulls only the section where your asset is discussed. If it isn't discussed, you are not bothered.
Level 4. Documents/Automation. MRMR & drill hole metrics extracted straight out of the technical reports and delivered structured into your model, into ArcGIS, into whatever you actually work in, every number traceable back to its source page by AuthentIQ™, our proprietary algorithm.
So, the question I would actually like answered: what is the alert you wish landed in your inbox tomorrow morning? Describe it in the comments, however specific or however odd. I bet we can do it.
